Militech Soldier

Friday, October 21, 2022

I am starting a new series of concept fan art that would revolve around Cyberpunk's universe. Due to its regained popularity after Edgerunner’s release last month, I've been playing it whenever I could, making me obsessed with the game in general. I submitted an entry for the Photo Mode Challenge - Wardrobe Edition (wish me luck) and hope to be one of the chosen few to be selected. The fangirl in me wants the prizes so badly.

Anyway, my artwork is inspired by Militech, a megacorporation that specializes in weapons manufacturing and private military contracting. Whenever I am cruising with a motorcycle in-game around the eastern Badlands, I would see a lot of Militech soldiers acting like a patrol.

Let’s talk about the process. I came across a good reference model from DeviantArt and did most of the things myself. I recreated the Militech logo to add to the soldier’s military uniform and drew the facial cyberware. For my background, I took a VP in-game and then transformed it into vexel to match the vector style I did for the model. Added a couple of textures, and light hatching for the shadows. Lastly, fixed some minor color adjustments through post-processing.

Long Distance Love

Monday, February 14, 2022

I have decided to create this Valentine's Day-themed artwork Long Distance Love, and it is about two lovers who are so close, yet so far from each other's embrace.

"Sometimes I just sit in front of the computer dreaming. I have food in front of me but no appetite to eat it. All because my heart misses you and my mind is dreaming about you." Sandra Toms

A long-distance relationship is a common setup among young people, adults, and married couples. Thanks to the technology we have today, we can still stay in touch with people we love through online means.

Salaryman

Thursday, January 20, 2022

Salaryman represents me as a corporate slave. The rain projects all the things that pull me down but I still keep on walking despite a heavy downpour. The neon lights symbolizes the creativity that I thought was long forgotten yet they shine so brightly.

This is my first published digital art after my long hiatus and I am so excited to announce that I will regularly post stuff again. Before I talk about my upcoming plans, let me share the inspiration behind this photomanipulation that I have made.

“People rarely succeed unless they have fun in what they are doing.” Dale Carnegie

If you are familiar with Japanese culture, probably you’ve heard the salaryman word before. I relate on a personal level since even after work hours, I had to do overtime and also make sure to accompany our boss or hang out with colleagues. I have learned a lot and gained experience as a salary earner despite the harsh reality of it.

You don’t have to see the whole staircase, just take the first step.” Martin Luther King, Jr.

WHAT IS NEXT IN STORE?

Regarding my future projects, expect that I’ll be sharing a lot of digital arts. I actually started making vector art again and I will showcase them in time. I might experiment with other styles and also harness my skills. Sad to say this but I won't resume those projects from 7 years ago since my style evolved as I grow up. The good thing is, I will upload finished works I have done during my hiatus online.

To add, I intend to be active in social media to market myself and at least be quite known to gain clients. I will share some of my other hobbies too like my action figures, comics collection, journaling, lifestyle among others. Above all, I will expand my portfolio as a graphic designer.

I expect great things this year and I believe that I can do it this time around. A little progress is still progress and one step closer to success.

The Rake

Monday, June 16, 2014

My 3rd artwork from the Creepypasta inspired series The Rake. If you're not familiar with The Rake I'll give you some brief intro.

The Rake is the name given to an unknown creature that appears as a large hairless dog or a naked man with large claws.

The Rake prefer killing its victims when they're not aware of its presence especially when they are fast asleep.

Little Miss Scare

Saturday, May 17, 2014

This manip was named after Type O Negative's single Black No. 1 (Little Miss Scare - All). I want to create something unusual so I decided to go for artistic nude model. This image is quite disturbing and anyone can imagine a story behind this. I don't want to label her as a typical human and I'm not sure what kind of being is she like. So I'll leave the rest to you.

She can be one of these zombies

Sunday, May 4, 2014

Always watching...

No eyes...

He is The Slender Man.

Slender Man originated as an internet meme created by Something Awful forums user Victor Surge in 2009. He is depicted as a faceless thin tall man with tentacles wearing a black suit. He is known for abducting people especially children.

Jeff The Killer Strikes Again

Monday, April 28, 2014

Just GO TO SLEEP!

I've been a huge fan of Creepypasta stories since '09. Jeff The Killer is one of the most popular characters on the internet horror legend, maybe because he's very controversial.

Long story short, there are lots of unknown origin of Jeff The Killer. First there's this photo that got viral way back in '08 that claims it's the real Jeff The Killer.

Here's the photo

They say that it's only a photoshopped photo of a girl named Katy Robinson who got cyber bullied because of her looks and later committed suicide. Terrifying right? (I'm actually scared as I type these words because of this horrific image, I dunno it's just so disturbing. I even turned on the lights hahaha) I suggest that you do your own research about this stuff. This post is not really about the origin of Jeff anyway hahaha.

So the creation of this very creepy manip is not intentional. I planned to do something but tada! I got Jeff instead. Well, if ever I'll manage to do the "original" thingy, I'll share it to you guys hehehe.

Okay for those who don't know or not familiar with Creepypasta stories, I'll share to you the fictional origin of Jeff The Killer.

Sakura (Cherry Blossom)

Sakura (FINAL)

This manip is obviously inspired by my fascination about Japan. As you can see, it's about Sakura or Cherry Blossom. If given a chance to witness the beauty of their national tree next spring, OMG I would love to take lots of photographs hahaha.

The real purpose of creating this artwork is for my blog entry for Kojie.san's contest through Nuffnang. You can read my entry here.

I'm really glad to find some good model stock. I really like the model's image because she's showing her smooth and fair legs. As you all know, Kojie.san offers various skin care products so this one is a good find.

Give Me Back My Treasure THIEF!

Give back my treasure thief! (FINAL)

As you can see my manip's theme is about PIRATES! I really want to create something unique with my chosen theme 'cause there are lots of pirate-themed artworks out there and I want to be sure that my idea is never been done.

The photo is about Clea a female pirate that went to an expedition along with her crew to go in a rumored island. The local folks on their homeland said that there's a hidden treasure stone of immortality lying somewhere there in a chest. So after months of sailing and all of her crew already died, she decided to continue and then she found the island.

When reaching the coast, she saw a hidden cave that is covered with mist. She went inside and found the remains of the historic "BLACK PIRATES" and other unknown pirates. The said group of pirates is believed to be Satanic and they're sacrificing newborn babies and virgins to the Demon.

Lots of pirates risk their lives just to get the treasure, but no one ever came back since setting foot on the island. So no one really knows the truth why they disappeared.

She searched the cave to find the chest containing the stone. She found it above the high pile of golds. Clea got it but decided to get out of the island fast because she felt a dark aura after touching the chest. When she was near the cave's exit, the Demon appears and that's the end of the story.

I want you guys to think your own ending hahaha, Did she make it or ended up just like the other pirates?

Hope you enjoyed the story,  of course my work as well :)

Onryō

Sunday, April 13, 2014

Onryō is a Japanese word that means vengeful ghost who came back from the dead to seek justice or vengeance.  This lady in kimono died in a backyard garden and her soul is still haunting the said place because she's looking for her executor that took her most important thing as a woman and then killed her.

Well if you're very observant, she doesn't look like a Japanese woman because she's not! Hehehe. So let's add some twist to my fictional story. She's a young and very beautiful Russian woman who loves gyaru fashion and wants to reside in "The Land of the Rising Sun" to study nihongo. After staying in Japan for few months, she was hired to become a part time waitress in a traditional Japanese restaurant. But due to her unusual beauty, one of the said restaurant's loyal customer wants to date her, but she doesn't want. Then one night her admirer did the most horrifying thing she can't imagine and then CUT!

I don't want to continue hahahaha, It makes me shiver LOL. But it's just fictional so don't take it seriously ok? I just came up on a story for the photo.

Expect to see more Japanese inspired artworks from me, because I LOVE everything about Japan.

Seriously guys, I'm suffering from artist block since yesterday and I don't know why. I'm scared that it will last for weeks or months that's why I did something artsy. My last art post was 2 days ago and I hate myself for breaking my promise to post at least once a day. I'm planning to post my stock photos but I realized I'm being lazy if I'll post something like that.

There are lots of hanging projects that I'm not yet finished and others that haven't yet started, so I created a work that I'll post right away.

Hope you like it :)

Tokyo in Ruins

Tokyo in Ruins

Another photomanipulation for you guys. This work is inspired by the most popular zombie-apocalyptic themed TV Show "The Walking Dead". Instead of creating some zombie thingy, I decided to create a place where everything is fallen, destroyed and abandoned.

I picked Tokyo because it's one of the most popular city in the world. It's very advanced and also a  high-tech city, many people work and live there. So just imagine if Zombie Outbreak occurs, people are not prepared but I guess some of you may say that the Japanese are well prepared in disasters, so let's say this photo is after 20 years since the outbreak haha.

Against All Odds

Thursday, April 10, 2014

This fantasy photomanipulation is inspired by those people who love each other but the society disagree with their relationship. I decided to express it by using dreamlike texture and the reason why I used silhouette on the lovers is to focus the idea on them. With so much colors on the backdrop, the silhouette emphasizes the meaning of the title. Hope you like it.

The hottest front man in present time Alexi Laiho.

Children-of-Bodom

I've been a huge fan of Children of Bodom since '10. I'm a metal fan so I came across their music back then and I just fell in love with their music. They're like metal gods in Finland or maybe not just there haha. Well they're just "KINGS OF MELODEATH" anyway (woohoo).

I first subtracted the images and then properly arranged them into this. I'm too lazy to post the complete process, well it's just basics anyway and I'm not into tutorials ('cause I think I'm not yet fit to be doing one, I hope someday)

After hours of working at last I'm done hahaha. I did quite soften the image and focus on Alexi haha. I've been doing lots of revisions in the concept that's why it took me so long just to finish and finally I can rest now.

Hope you like my photomanipulation guys.  It's my first long post hahaha.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY AGAIN TO MARKKU UULA ALEKSI LAIHO!!!!!!!!
